In the spirit of the season, Seldin properties partnered with local charities to collect items and spread some holiday cheer. This year we expanded our collection efforts beyond canned food to include first aid supplies, travel-size hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
“We wanted to focus on meeting the total needs of each person this year, it just felt like the right thing to do.” –Shelly Uhing
Participating properties were grouped into one of the four donation categories for a little friendly competition. The 30 Seldin properties collected an amazing 11,311 items in total.
Kudos to the four Needs Drive winners: Oak Valley, Village East, Valley View and Woodbury Heights.
“Taking care of our neighbors and those in the community is important to our residents. They came together and really stepped up to help out and share their holiday spirit with the less fortunate and that is what the Seldin Needs Drive is all about.” –Nikki McLaughlin, Community Business Manager, Woodbury Heights.
Each winning property will be receiving a special gift. A huge thank you to all participants –because of you this holiday season was merrier for those in need.
Several properties also participated in the “A Warmer Day” Coat Drive. A Warmer Day is a local Omaha charity with the mission of providing coats and other winter apparel to underprivileged children and families.
As a thank you to show appreciation for all the hard work their staffs have put in over the past year. Seldin wrapped up 2017 with fun holiday parties at each property. Park 120 has recently held two events: a Lot 2 Wine Party and an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. The Lot 2 party treated new residents to a wine tasting, chef demonstration, and surf & turf dinner. The Ugly Sweater party boasted tacky sweater fun as far as the eye could see along with prizes, raffles, games, and a great time had by all.
